With guest Justice Allison Riggs of the North Carolina Supreme Court.

With just 6 weeks to go until Election Day, we thought what better time to remind everyone of the importance of our judicial races, starting at the very top?! If Democrats want to re-gain a majority on the NC Supreme Court before the end of this decade — and try to restore the fairness and impartiality that were once hallmarks of our judiciary — Democrats MUST win this race (and every race in 2026 and 2028, but more on that later!).
So this week, we’re revisiting our interview with Justice Allison Riggs of the North Carolina Supreme Court. For those who don’t know, Justice Riggs previously served on the North Carolina Court of Appeals and was appointed to the Supreme Court in 2023. She is running for election to a full term to keep her seat on the bench.

And don’t forget, we’re trying to help all of the pro-democracy, state-wide North Carolina judicial candidates this year via an ActBlue Slate.

The slate, pictured above from left to right, includes all four state-wide Democratic judicial candidates:
Judge Carolyn Thompson, North Carolina Court of Appeals;
Justice Allison Riggs, North Carolina Supreme Court;
Ed Eldred, North Carolina Court of Appeals; and
Martin Moore, North Carolina Court of Appeals.
Thank you so much to everyone who has pitched in already. For everyone else, what are you waiting on? The slate will stay live until Election Day, but don’t wait. These candidates need our support TODAY!
